Decided to start a diet. I know several people who have had some success with intermittent fasting combined with the elimination of sugar. Let's see how it goes. This will be a struggle when you love chocolate and bread as much as I do.
I've also started a personal challenge to paint 30 paintings in 30 days. I've decided a landscape series of 8"x8" alcohol ink paintings on iridescent medium. It's going great.
I attempted my first large painting but sometimes the pressure of making "good art" gets the best of me. It's like a writer with writers block, staring at a huge white canvas. When this happens, I'm reminding myself you are a student of art and life. No one cares… just play. Just get something on the canvas and go from there or work your way up to the larger canvas'.
I've had laryngitis for two days now from celebrating too much at the Brewers game on Thursday with associates from work. Honestly, it's been a wonderful experiment in slowing down and listening. You take for granted how much you need your vocal chords when you lose them. It's teaching me that I'm not as good of a listener as I thought I was.
I've been looking at the art of many different people again over the past two weeks and seeing the more successful artists have a strong voice, and story in the their art. Some also end up having others help them develop their ideas and concepts as they start to grow.
